It’s the year 2022 and the Season 3 update has driven all sniper rifles out of Warzone’s meta. All sniper rifles? No, the indomitable HDR holds her post.
Actually, that’s not quite true: it’s more that the big sniper nerf in the Season 3 update has weakened the previous front-runners Swiss K31 and Kar98k so much that HDR can act as a stopgap, filling the power vacuum – before the patch, the sniper rifle from Modern Warfare had been hanging around in the lower ranks of the meta.
Why the rapid rise? Unlike the majority of its classmates, the HDR has enough firepower to reliably take down enemies with a single shot, even after the patch. The best HDR setup for Warzone Pacific Season 3 is revealed in this guide.
Best HDR Setup in Warzone
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor.
Barrel: 26.9″ HDR Pro.
Laser: Tac Laser.
Stock: FTAC Stalker-Scout.
Perk: Sleight of Hand.
These upgrades will ensure that you have enough damage potential to take out your opponents at the highest possible range with one shot. This setup’s Monolithic Suppressor and 26.9″ HDR Pro increase the weapon’s effective damage range as well as the bullet velocity. Tac Laser and FTAC Stalker-Scout compensate for any resulting deficits in the aim-down-sight speed.
To complete the setup you have various options: A Variable Zoom Scope gives you better magnification but slows down aiming again, while the Sleight of Hand perk increases your reload speed. This is quite useful in a sniper rifle – especially if you’re taking on multiple enemies, have put one too many bullets next to the target, or still need to add a second bullet to ensure the kill.

Field Equipment: Heartbeat Sensor (Tactical), C4 (Lethal).
Overkill allows you to carry a second primary weapon, ideally an assault rifle or a submachine gun – depending on which playstyle you prefer. For assault rifles, the STG44 or the XM4 are recommended in Season 3, and for lighter weapons, the MP40, Welgun, or Owen Gun will do a fine job at ensuring your safety in close combat.
