Cities Skylines 2 has become the top choice when it comes to realistic city-building sims.
Before diving into the latest installment, you’re going to want to get familiar with the best settings to max out your FPS within the game.
One of the main points of criticism that players have had early on in the game is poor optimization. This was a leading reason we gave it a 6.5/10, which can be viewed here.
One of the first tasks players will want to dive into right away is the in-game settings menu, where you’ll be able to tweak various settings to see what works best for your PC, as the settings we’re going to run over may not be optimal for you.
However, like any game, there are settings that are recommended for the general masses to use, as these are going to allow most modern PCs to achieve the targeted FPS goals.
You can view the best settings for FPS below.
This is going to vary depending on your PC, and we only recommend VSync if your monitor and graphics card are beefy enough.
Another tip to get some high FPS is to consider closing all applications besides Cities Skylines, as these tend to use a lot of memory, and therefore can put a strain on your FPS. If all else fails, you can crank the settings all the way down. The game won’t look the best, but it’ll perform better.
