BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent on ‘mini break’ with Carol Kirkwood after ‘marriage split’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

She first posted a picture of the pair cheek to cheek and smiling brightly while wearing stylish sunglasses.

Sally then followed up with a picture taken through a patio door.

It showed a bistro set on the decking overlooking a lake.

She simply captioned the image “I do love a mini break” to which she added a double heart emoji.

It’s not known where the pair were enjoying their short getaway.

Sally usually presents BBC Breakfast alongside Jon Kay Monday through to Wednesday.

However, this week, after her usual appearances on the first two shows of the week she was nowhere to be seen on Wednesday.

Pregnant Nina Warhurst stepped in to host the news programme and Sally’s absence was not addressed.

Sally only became a permanent BBC Breakfast presenter in October 2021 when she was announced as Louise Minchin’s replacement.

Prior to this, she had been working for the show as a sports presenter since 2011.

Meanwhile, Carol, 60, is the weather presenter on the show having first joined the BBC’s weather team in 1998.

She took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 finishing tenth.

Louise Minchin was a guest on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday having quit presenting the programme in 2021.

She appeared on the show to promote her new book Fearless: Adventures with Extraordinary Women.

BBC Breakfast is on BBC One weekdays from 6am.
