BBC Breakfast Naga Munchetty ‘scolds’ presenter for laughing at stranded passengers | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV
BBC Breakfast hosts Naga Munchetty and Ben Thompson were quick to call out Matt Taylor for giggling at the stranded passengers on a cruise ship in Greenland.
Giving viewers an update on the situation, Ben said the Danish military has sent help, but it’s taking a while for them to get there.
He said: “Do not panic, they’ve got enough food, they’ve got enough of everything.
“There are no injuries but they may be stuck on that ship a little longer. It’s a nice place to be stuck though isn’t it?”
Naga replied: “Nice?! That’s an understatement isn’t it?”
Although Ben added people may get fed up with the view, Naga went on to introduce the weather as Matt Taylor stood in front of a photo of a Devonshire landscape.
She said: “Look at that view! I mean that’s good, but that one was beautiful wasn’t it?
Matt replied: “It was in the sunshine, but it’s Greenland it can all change.”
Starting to laugh, Matt told Naga and Ben there was some rough weather heading that way over the next few days.
Ben commented: “Stop smiling!”
As Naga quipped: “Don’t smile about that and laugh about it!”
After the hosts jokingly told him off, he replied: “I was thinking about the guides there, who tell them everything they can see.
“He must’ve dried up ages ago.”
Nage questioned: “So you’re laughing at him having to tell them that?”
Realising he was digging himself a further hole, he swiftly moved on to giving people the UK’s forecast.
However, once he was finished, Naga and Ben mentioned him laughing at the stranded passengers again.
Ben said: “Still trying to work out if we can forgive you for laughing at the people stuck.”
As he apologised, Naga added: “It’s not us that need to forgive him, let’s just remember that!”
