BBC Breakfast host forced to apologise as missing feature causes chaos: ‘It’s broken!’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV
Presenters Jon Kay and Nina Warhurst were on call in the BBC studio for the first Breakfast show following the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Unfortunately, not everything about the latest broadcast went smoothly, and Jon was forced to say sorry to viewers when he realised the on-screen clock had disappeared.
Jon and Nina issued a panicked apology to BBC Breakfast viewers on Tuesday for the show’s missing clock.
When the cameras cut back to the studio at 6:26am, the presenters discovered the reliable red clock which usually resides in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen was faulty.
“Our clock’s broken!” Jon exclaimed, holding his hands out in despair.
“Well, it’s disappeared,” he continued as Nina grimaced. “Our on-screen clock has disappeared.”

The Breakfast presenter revealed a number of viewers had contacted the studio to complain about the BBC’s poor time-keeping on Tuesday.
“It’s causing chaos for lots of you this morning,” he explained.
“You’ve been in touch this morning saying you don’t know what to do, you don’t know what the time is.”
Thankfully, Jon assured viewers he had a temporary solution to the BBC’s embarrassing clock issues.
Once the show returned to the studio, however, Jon and Nina were still having issues with the clock.
Jon began: “Good morning! We’ve got the… Oh, no, we haven’t got the clock back.”
The presenters sat in shocked silence for a moment but, thankfully, it didn’t take long for things to start ticking again.
“Oh, there she is!” Nina exclaimed as the clock popped back into its usual corner.
A relieved Jon added: “We’ve got it back! It’s half past six. Okay, calm down. We’re back to normal.”
“We can start properly now, can’t we?” Nina quipped before heading into the day’s main headlines.
Luckily, it appears the show hasn’t experienced any further issues with the clock at the time of writing.
