Battlefield 2042 Dataminer Leaks Claimed Images From Next Season’s Map

Well-known Battlefield 2042 data miner, Temporyal, recently shared some new images from the game’s upcoming season four, claiming that the next map is set in South Africa. The images are said to showcase different parts of the upcoming map, which is reportedly called Flashpoint.

According to the leaker, the new map features up to ten points of interest. As the names of points of interest read, it seems like players will be exploring an under-construction facility in the desert. It is not yet known what type of weather disaster will occur on the new map, but we will probably find out more about it once DICE officially reveals the new season.

Keep in mind that all the information above has been discovered through data mining, which means there is no official confirmation for the leaked map to appear in the game. The leaker claims that official details on the new season will be shared in mid-February.

Battlefield 2042 is set to receive update 3.2 this week. With this patch, DICE has brought back the class system to the game over a year after its launch. It was one of the most-requested features by the community, but our Battlefield expert Robert Zak isn’t a big fan.

Along with dividing the game’s specialists into four classes, DICE is also reworking Breakthrough and adding new weapons and thermal scopes. The exact release date of the patch is yet to be revealed, but it’s going to be sometime this week.

Despite its poor performance after launch, DICE continues to support Battlefield 2042 in 2023 with new content. Although the game has barely touched over 10,000 concurrent players on Steam since 2022, DICE hopes to win the community’s trust back with the addition of the old-school class system.
