Banjo-Kazooie has been long dormant after the release of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. While the franchise has made appearances in other games, fans have been left waiting for a continuation or sequel – now a rumor claims a revival for the

Now according to a statement made by ModernVintageGamer, a developer working at Night Dive Studios, a revival to Banjo-Kazooie will be coming sooner than anyone could’ve anticipated.

He spoke on the Nate the Hate podcast and claimed that he has heard talks about a revival being shown off at the Xbox and Bethesda showcase on Sunday.

“Banjo will be at this show, and it will be announced,” said MVG. “I have spoken to a lot of people, and I’m not an insider, I’m a developer, but sometimes I hear things and I was at GDC earlier this year and there were some people talking about Banjo.

“I’ve heard that Banjo’s coming up for months now, from different people. Something’s happening with Banjo, what I can’t tell you is what that is.” He did admit that he was unsure if this would be a potential reboot/sequel or a collection of games that could take the form of a remaster or even remake.

It is entirely possible for the formerly popular games to make a comeback. Rare has stated they are interested in making new games of their IPs in the past.

There is also the upcoming release of a new Perfect Dark, another one of Rare’s IPs, though that remake will not be developed by the company. However, it does show that Microsoft is interested in bringing back old franchises to the modern era.
