Earlier in November this year, Larian Studios teased the arrival of Patch 9 for the Early Access version of Baldur’s Gate 3, as well as promising to share more details on the game’s final release date. Recently, the studio confirmed that the game will show up at The Game Awards 2022.
Larian Studios shared a new teaser on Twitter, revealing Minsc & Boo, which is expected to arrive in the game with Patch 9 this month. However, what fans are even more excited about, is the release date announcement, which is likely going to happen in this upcoming trailer on December 8.
We do know that Baldur’s Gate 3 targets a 2023 launch, but it is yet to be revealed when exactly we can expect it to arrive. The game is only available on PC, but a portion of the community hopes Larian also announces the game for consoles as well, which is something we haven’t ever heard of so far from the developers.
Last month, Larian revealed that Patch 9 will bring some surprising new features to the game, which is probably going to be the addition of Minsc & Boo. Currently, players can only play Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3 through the Early Access version, with Act 2 and Act 3 launching along with the final release of the game in 2023.
Larian revealed back in November that the team has expanded its motion-capture studios by setting up a large place that allows them to capture multiple scenes simultaneously, which helps with the faster progression of the development process for the next two acts of the game.
Although Patch 9 will bring new features to Act 1, Larian recently claimed that the team is not done with the first Act yet. When the final version of the game launches, Larian claims that Act will have enough new content that even players with hundreds of hours of playtime will still find themselves in a fresh experience in Act 1.
The Game Awards 2022 will go live on December 8 at 5 pm PT/8 pm ET.
