If you were unimpressed by the amount of races available in BG3, you’re in luck. This Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s Tabaxi mod is already looking incredible so far, and it’s not even finished yet. I didn’t even know mods could look this good!

BG3 player is working on a Tabaxi mod and it looks amazing

This player’s Tabaxi mod on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit is looking incredible so far, even though the mod is unfinished. The user “cobalt_owl” showed two screenshots of their work-in-progress mod of this underrated Dungeons & Dragons 5e race that resembles cats. Quite frankly, it looks like it could’ve been made by Larian Studios itself.

The Tabaxi model is seen both in character creation and in a dialogue conversation. You can tell how much detail this modder has put into the model. Notice the detailed hair strands, whiskers, and pronounced snout that make this look like a true Tabaxi. You can also spot the tail behind them, as well as their unique feline feet.

I don’t know how modders do it, but they do the impossible. Seriously, Larian Studios, hire this person! Even if this is the only model for the Tabaxi that you can choose, it’s amazing that it looks this good for a mod.

In less than 24 hours this post has garnered over 4,000 upvotes with replies being thoroughly impressed by the high-quality model. Although some modders have already created a few different D&D races missing from BG3, nothing has looked this good.

The OP in the replies said that they just finished the male models so far, but they’re working on alternate skin options and female models, alongside the Tabaxi racial abilities. If you want to follow their progress or support their work to sign up for the beta, join their Patreon!
