Beating Baldur’s Gate 3 is a feat in itself, but beating Honor Mode is an incredible achievement. One Baldur’s Gate 3 player won Honor Mode in the craziest way possible, as described in a trending Reddit post.

In a pretty long and dramatized post, this user explained how they won Honor Mode on their last legs with only half of their members left alive.

Baldur’s Gate 3 player describes their dramatic final battle in Honor Mode

In a trending post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, this one player somehow won Honor Mode in the craziest way possible, even though they believed they were doomed. The story is drawn out and heavily dramatized, which makes the ending of how they won even funnier.

The player explains how their Honor Mode run (one-save permadeath mode) made it all the way to the final battle against the Netherbrain. They got to the point where practically all their party members were defeated, and all that was left was their Tav Sorcerer, Lae’zel, and the illithid Orpheus.

The last survivors got the Netherbrain down to one hit point by the final round right before the Netherbrain would win. Their character has no Actions or Bonus Actions, but if they didn’t kill it now it would break free and win. On Orpheus’ turn, unwilling to lose their Honor Run right before the ending, they looked into his inventory.

Somehow, Orpheus had three items, one of them being a helmet. With quick thinking, the player made Orpheus throw the helmet at the Netherbrain. They beat BG3 on Honor Mode with a toss of a helmet.

The replies seemed to enjoy the creativity that this player had at the last minute. It’s not only an impressive feat, but a great story to tell for how they achieved an Honor Mode win. This would be an entirely different post if Orpheus had missed that helmet throw, though.
