Ayato Best Builds & Artifact Sets

When building Ayato’s artifacts, it is best to focus on increasing the Hydro DMG dealt from both his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst. Here is the best artifact set you can use for him to boost his abilities.

4-Set Of Heart Of Depth

A 2-Set of Heart of Depth will give Ayato a base Hydro DMG Bonus of 15 percent. Also, after Ayato uses his Elemental Skill, his Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG will increase by 30 percent for 15 seconds. This set is great for building up the strength of Ayato’s Normal Attack while you wait for his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst to cooldown. It will also give a significant boost in damage to his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, as both of them use Hydro DMG. To build on Ayato’s strengths even further, here are the stats and substats you should use on each artifact piece.

The ATK% stat is a priority if you want to increase the damage from Ayato’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks. Along with this, you can boost Ayato’s HP in your substats as the damage from his Elemental Skill is increased based on his Max HP.

Ayato’s Best 5-Star And 4-Star Weapons

As a Main DPS, Ayato works best with weapons that focus on CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. Increasing the strength of his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst are the most important factors in his build, and his weapon can make a huge difference. Below, we have listed his best weapons, both 5-Star and 4-Star.

5-Star Weapons: Haran Geppaku Futsu And Primordial Jade Cutter

Haran Geppaku Futsu is Ayato’s signature weapon, so it is the perfect fit for him. It will give him a base increase of 7.2 percent to his CRIT Rate. Its Bonus Skill, ‘Honed Flow’, will give a 12 percent increase to All Elemental DMG Bonus. When other party members use their Elemental Skill, Ayato will gain 1 Wavespike stack with a maximum of 2 stacks, and can be triggered once every 0.3 seconds. When Ayato uses his Elemental Skill, all stacks of Wavespike will be consumed to gain Rippling Upheaval, where each stack of Wavespike consumed will increase Normal Attack DMG by 20 percent for 8 seconds. This weapon will significantly increase the damage from Ayato’s Normal Attack, as well as his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst with the increase to All Elemental DMG.

Primordial Jade Cutter will give Ayato a base increase of 9.6 percent to his CRIT Rate. Its Bonus Skill will increase HP by 20 percent. It will also provide an ATK Bonus based on 1.2 percent of Ayato’s Max HP. This weapon will be a great choice if you didn’t build up on Ayato’s HP as much in his artifact set. His Elemental Skill can receive a large damage bonus based on his Max HP, so this weapon will enhance his Elemental Skill significantly.

4-Star & Free-To-Play Weapons: The Black Sword And Kagotsurube Isshin

The Black Sword will give Ayato a base increase of 6 percent to his CRIT Rate. Its Bonus Skill will increase the DMG dealt by Normal and Charged Attacks by 20 percent. It will also regenerate 60 percent of ATK as HP when Normal and Charged Attacks have a CRIT Hit. This can occur once every 5 seconds. This weapon is a great alternative to the Primordial Jade Cutter with its focus on ATK and HP.

As a Free-To-Play option, the Kagotsurube Isshin is the top choice if you want to focus on Ayato’s Normal Attack. It will give a base increase of 9 percent to his ATK. Also, when a Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack hits an enemy, it will create a Hewing Gale, dealing Area of Effect DMG equal to 180 percent of ATK and increasing ATK by 15 percent for 8 seconds. This can be triggered once every 8 seconds. This weapon gives a significant boost to Ayato’s ATK to greatly enhance his Normal Attack.

Ayato’s Best Team Compositions

Ayato’s best teams come from his ability to wield a significant amount of Hydro DMG. This can create strong and effective Elemental Reactions, so we have put together teams that will work best with his Hydro Element.

Best 5-Star Team

This team will focus on creating the Freeze Elemental Reaction, which uses Hydro and Cryo together. Once the enemies are frozen and can’t move, Ayato can use his Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks to deal additional damage.

Best 4-Star Team

This party can easily create the Vaporize reaction, which uses Hydro and Pyro. You can start by using Xiangling’s Elemental Burst to provide constant Pyro DMG, and bring out Ayato to do the rest as the Main DPS.
