A new month and the next in-game season are just around the corner, and that means a wave of fresh content for Pokémon GO users – but developer Niantic hasn’t revealed exactly what will be coming to the game quite yet. First, however, the final items of the routine program from August are on the agenda. What’s coming up in Pokémon GO in the week from Aug. 29 to Sept. 4, 2022? You can find out here in our weekly preview.

Spotlight Hour: Pidove

Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022, from 6 to 7 p.m. local time

The final Spotlight Hour of August 2022 isn’t exactly riveting: Pidove is the Pokémon of the hour. The pigeon-like pocket monster can be captured in the shiny variant, which makes the event interesting at least for shiny hunters. Those who don’t really care about the little bird should take advantage of the bonus of the evening: Pokémon evolutions reward you with double experience points.

Raid Hour: Zamazenta

Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, from 6 to 7 p.m. local time

Zacian and Zamazenta will remain present in the fifth stage raids until Sept. 1, 2022. While Zacian took over as the boss of the Raid Hour the previous week, it’s Zamazenta’s turn to close out the month. As usual, the Sword and Shield Legendary will appear at all available gyms during the event, allowing you to take on multiple fights in a row. Shiny hunters will unfortunately not get their money’s worth, as the special versions are not available in Pokémon GO.

GO Battle League: Start of Season 12

Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, starting at 1 p.m. PDT

The 11th season of the GO Battle League will end on Sept. 1, 2022, at 1 p.m. PDT, after which the next season will start without delay. It is currently not known what schedule this will follow and what formats it will bring. However, it should once again run parallel to the in-game season that starts on the same day, so tournaments for Halloween and the holidays at year’s end should take their place in the event calendar alongside the standard trio of Great League, Ultra League, and Master League, as usual.

First Event in September: Start

Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, starting at 10 a.m. local time

As mentioned earlier, Niantic has yet to reveal its plans for September 2022. However, in a post about the upcoming Community Day dates, the developer announced that the first in-game event of the month will start on Sept. 3, so you can already mark that down.

We’ll keep you updated in this article as soon as Niantic releases details for what’s to come in September.
