Atlus Announces Release Date For Metaphor: ReFantazio

There are many projects that have been in development for decades and are finally fine-tuning their details for release. We’re not just talking about those eternal early access games or games that are already playable, but also about RPGs like Metaphor: ReFantazio, a project with the creators of the Persona saga behind it that began development almost 10 years ago and will finally see the light in 2024.

The New Game From The ‘Father’ of Persona 5

After an event by Atlus and Studio Zero, the Japanese, led by Katsura Hashino, have finally revealed the release date of their next big JRPG.

Almost a year ago, Atlus surprised many because while many were expecting a glimpse of Persona 6, the Japanese studio took advantage of the Xbox event to announce their new IP, Metaphor Re:Fantazio, of which we have learned that it is a project being developed by the usual Persona studio, which has automatically caused many to be on the lookout for this new proposal by the Japanese.

Since then, it has been affirmed on several occasions that Metaphor Re:Fantazio would be released at some point later this year, although Atlus has not gone beyond showing some gameplay of their new IP. However, it seems that the wait to enjoy this video game is finally over because Atlus has announced the release date of Metaphor: ReFantazio.

For days now, we have known that Atlus was going to broadcast a special event for Metaphor: ReFantazio on April 22, so many already assumed that the release date of this video game would be announced, which has ended up happening because it has become official: Metaphor: ReFantazio will be released on October 11th 2024 worldwide.

This announcement has also been accompanied by a new trailer in which we can see the video game in motion along with its world, which will take us to the kingdom of Eucronia. In this way, Metaphor: ReFantazio will be about the murder of the king and a tournament to decide the next monarch, with one of its main features being the management of time.

Other than that, it is worth noting that Metaphor: ReFantazio will be released on Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC on October 11, with a rumored release version for the successor to the Nintendo Switch, although nothing official has been announced about this version yet.
