Assassin’s Creed Jade beta is happening in August

As we enter a busy release period for the Assassin’s Creed series, we’re not far off getting hands-on with the upcoming mobile game, Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade. There is no official release date yet, but the dates for the closed beta have been announced.

It will run from August 3 to August 11, 2023. You have until July 27 to head to the game’s official website and sign up. Although only 5000 players will be invited to join and only North American and European servers will be online, so your odds are going to be very long if you don’t live in those regions.

If you are chosen you will be able to pre-load the game starting August 1, and Ubisoft has also released the minimum system requirements. If you’re on iOS, then you’ll need an iPhone 11 or better, and if you’re Android then you’ll need to be running Android 10 and a Snapdragon 865 – this is roughly on par with the specs of a Samsung Galaxy S20, for reference.

This game is set in China around 200 BCE, and while the assassin’s order as we know it in the games didn’t exist back then, our character will be a disciple of the legendary assassin Wei Yu. Ubisoft has been keeping cards close to its chest about the size and scale of the game, and what alterations they’ve made to make the series fit on mobile – but it won’t be too much longer before we find out.
