A new season of Apex Legends begins this Tuesday.

Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that Season 16 of Apex Legends will be released on Tuesday, February 14th at 10AM PST / 6PM GMT. PlayStation users will be able to pre-load the new content update in advance, whilst Xbox, Switch, and PC users will be required to download the new patch upon the launch of the season.

Ahead of the launch of the new season, Respawn Entertainment has revealed all regarding what fans can expect from the new season. Not only will this be the very first season of Apex Legends to not introduce a new playable Legend, it will also see the debut of the highly anticipated team deathmatch mode, which had been rumored for quite some time.

Season 16: Revelry might be the first season without a new Legend, but Respawn has confirmed that most of the current Legends will go through some extensive balance adjustments with the new season. As detailed in the official patch notes, players can expect adjustments to the following Legends:

  • Seer
  • Bloodhound
  • Mirage
  • Pathfinder
  • Wraith
  • Horizon
  • Lifeline

It’s not just standard balancing changes that will be introduced with Season 16 though, as a new ‘class perks’ system is also set to be introduced. According to Respawn, every Legend class will now have an associated gameplay perk that grants the Legends of that class access to new strategic options in the game. If you’re a casual Apex player, the developers call these new perks, “fun new bonuses to engage with and empower decision-making.”

However, for those that enjoy playing a little more strategically at a higher level, Respawn says that “a squad make-up now determines what gameplay elements the team will have access to, and what they’re leaving behind.”

Season 16: Revelry will also introduce permanent limited-time mode rotations, as well as the introduction of team deathmatch. The new mode will allow players to select their Legend and loadout and respawn after death, with the first time to score 30 kills winning the round.
