APB Reloaded is sunsetting its console versions – in fact, the Xbox server is already permanently offline

We’ve got some bad news for the APB community: Last night, Little Orbit announced that it’s sunsetting APB Reloaded’s console versions.

“The decision to discontinue APB Reloaded on consoles was driven by a combination of technical challenges, resource constraints, and the evolving landscape of gaming,” the studio explains in its dev blog. “We want to ensure that our players have the best possible gaming experience, and unfortunately, sustaining the game on console platforms has proven increasingly challenging.” As evidence, Little Orbit points to the fact that even right now, the game is offline on Xbox owing to technical issues and purchasing problems, and now the studio is “unable to bring the game back online.” PlayStation 4 players will see their version of the game sunset on August 2nd, though monetization will be disabled February 1st.

The only good news here is that console players will be able to migrate their toons to PC – on Xbox starting right now, and on PS4 starting February 1st.

“As a small consolation, we have created the ability for console players to migrate their characters to PC. APB Reloaded will continue to be available and supported on the PC platform. We encourage console players who wish to continue their APB Reloaded experience to consider joining the PC community.”

Readers will recall that Little Orbit took over the GamersFirst MMOs APB Reloaded and Fallen Earth back in 2018, with regular roadmaps and events and even a 64-bit client upgrade along the way. Most recently, the studio brought Fallen Earth Classic back online after a two-year hiatus and announced it’s working on a Unity Fallen Earth remake.
