Anno 1800 Is Coming To Current-Gen Consoles Next Month

Console players will soon get the chance to lead the industrial revolution in Anno 1800.

Ubisoft’s critically-acclaimed city-builder Anno 1800 is officially coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S this March, over three years after its original launch on PC. The console version will feature a revamped UI system to suit controller input as well as resized texts and icons to make it easier for players to use the game’s UI even at a distance from the TV or monitor screen.

According to the announcement trailer, Anno 1800 Console Edition will include all of the free updates that have already been released for PC. And for those that purchase the Deluxe Edition, you will receive access to previously launched cosmetic packs. Unfortunately, Ubisoft didn’t share anything about the addition of content expansions to the Console Edition. The PC version has already received up to 12 content expansions since launch.

Fans can expect Anno 1800 Console Edition to release on March 16th, 2023. The Standard Edition of the game costs $39.99 and the Deluxe Edition has been priced at $49.99. If you pre-order the game, you will receive early adopter bonus items, including a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, an imperial pack, and the console founder pack. These packs are not included in the Deluxe Edition, and will only arrive as pre-order bonuses.

Similar to the PC version, Anno 1800 will benefit from PvP and co-op multiplayer modes on consoles as well. The game invites you to discover new technologies and expand your nation during the Industrial Revolution in Europe. You will get to lead your nation from a traditional life to a modern one, using the tools you have in your hands. Of course, this isn’t going to be an easy task as you will have to deal with many issues, such as keeping a balance between the resources you have and the projects you run in the city.

This is the first time ever that a mainline instalment from the Anno franchise is launching on consoles. The game was launched exclusively on Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store for PC, but the French publisher released it on Steam back in December 2022. With a “Mostly Positive” review tag on Steam, 79% of players have enjoyed their time in Anno 1800.
