Amazon’s Paper Girls Series Gets First Time-Traveling Trailer

Amazon Prime Video has released the first official trailer for its upcoming live-action adaptation Paper Girls, based on the popular comic. The show, which spans eight episodes, hits the streaming service on July 29.

A synopsis reads: “It’s the day after Halloween in 1988 when four young friends accidentally stumble into an intense time war and find themselves inexplicably transported to the year 2019. When they come face-to-face with their adult selves, each girl discovers her own strengths as together they try to find a way back to the past while saving the world of the future.” Check out the new trailer below.

The series is developed for television by Stephany Folsom (Toy Story 4) and stars Sofia Rosinsky (A Wake), Camryn Jones (Perpetual Grace, LTD), Riley Lai Nelet (Altered Carbon), Fina Strazza (Madam Secretary), Ali Wong (Tuca & Bertie), and Nate Corddry (For All Mankind).

The show is based on the Brian K. Vaughan-written mystery and sci-fi comic book series about four newspaper delivery girls who find themselves caught up in a conflict between warring factions of time travelers while out making deliveries on the morning after Halloween in 1988. The comic ran from 2015 to 2019.

Additionally, the streaming service has also released key art for the series–check it out below.
