Amazon celebrates a year of Lost Ark with anniversary rewards like new skins, and a new continent to explore

Today serves as the one-year anniversary of the worldwide release of Lost Ark, at least for those who played it early. And just yesterday, a recent news blog post on the official Lost Ark website revealed that the developers plan on holding quite the birthday bash for their MMORPG. Specifically, the developer will host various celebrations and give out rewards to fans all throughout the month of February. Tomorrow, it will start with the release of the ‘First Anniversary Celebration’ update, which will introduce a wealth of new content for the game.

The most significant addition featured in the update comes in the form of a brand new explorable continent called Rowen. Situated west of Shushire, this continent contains a large number of crimson jewels called Sylmael. The people of Arkesia see these jewels as an extremely valuable resource, so various factions have made their way to Rowen to obtain them.

Rather unsurprisingly, two of these factions, Preigelli and Liebertane, have begun conflicting over these jewels, and players will involve themselves in the dispute. Notably, players will need to reach Item Level 1,445 to embark on this perilous quest.

More of what the Lost Ark anniversary update includes

In addition to Rowen, the Lost Ark anniversary update will treat players to a variety of cosmetics as well as several special events to partake in. These events include the Anniversary Event, which places birthday cards all across the game world for players to collect, and the Hot Spring Event, which ties into the Anniversary Event by letting players gather ‘Lost Ark’ cards. You can look at the rest of the anniversary update’s myriad additions on the aforementioned news blog post.

As jam-packed as this Lost Ark anniversary celebration is, Steam players may not be in the best mood to join the festivities. Recently, several users reported having their Steam accounts banned after not playing the game for a while. According to the developer, this was an unintentional side effect of its attempt to remove several bot accounts.
