All Pokemon That Evolve With The Water Stone

Players hoping to complete their Pokedex may need the Water Stone to get these exclusive evolutions.

Quick Links

No party is balanced without having a water Pokemon in it. They are your best defense against the fire-type Pokemon, and do a lot of damage to ground-type or rock-type Pokemon as well.

In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, there are plenty of water-type Pokemon to choose from, some well know fan-favorites, and others being newer additions to the series. But only two of them can evolve using a Water Stone. Here are those Pokemon, and how you can get your hands on a couple of Water Stones.

Water Stone Evolutions

Up first is the Pokemon with a whopping eight possible evolutions in total – Eevee. Using the Water Stone on your Eevee will cause them to evolve into Vaporeon. It is possible that they can evolve into Espeon, Umbreon, or Sylveon if certain conditions are met before you use the Water Stone. To avoid this, make sure you catch an Eevee and keep it in your box rather than in your party. When in your party, it will grow in its friendship level and if it reaches level 160 before you use the Water Stone, you’ll miss your opportunity.

The second Pokemon that you can use the Water Stone on is Shellder. Doing so will cause it to evolve into its final form, Cloyster. There are no special circumstances you need to be aware of for this evolution, so just use the stone on them when you are ready, and you’ll have yourself a Cloyster.

Where To Find A Water Stone

Getting a Water Stone in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is pretty easy. Once you have earned a few gym badges, you can simply purchase them from any Delibird shops located in each city. They cost 3000 Poke Dollars each, which is a small price to pay when compared to trying to find one in the wild.

When exploring areas near the ocean, it is possible to find them lying around. They drop randomly from time to time and can be picked up when you grab any of the sparkling items on the ground.
