There are several types of evolution stones you can use in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Each help you evolve different types and quantities of Pokemon, with the Thunder Stone having the most evolution options.

Knowing which Pokemon to use the Thunder Stone on can be less than straightforward since there are dozens of electric-type Pokemon, but only five the stone will work on. Here are those five Pokemon, and where you can pick up some Thunder Stones.

Thunder Stone Evolutions

Eevee, Pikachu, Tynamo, Magneton, and Tadbulb evolve using the Thunder Stone

Up first on the list is one of the top fan-favorite Pokemon, Eevee. Eevee will turn into the speedy Jolteon when the Thunder Stone is used. To avoid Eevee from accidentally evolving into some of its other forms, be sure to use the stone on it before it reaches a friendship level of 160. Knowing which friendship level your Pokemon is at can be a bit tricky, so the easiest way to avoid this is to evolve your Eevee soon after catching them, or by keeping them in one of your boxes until you are ready.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

There are four other Pokemon in the game that you can evolve using the Thunder Stone. Each of their evolutions is very straightforward, unlike Eevee’s. Simply use the stone on them, and they will evolve as follows:

  • Pikachu to Raichu
  • Tynamo to Eelektrik
  • Magneton to Magnezone
  • Tadbulb to Bellibolt

Where To Find A Thunder Stone

Thunder Stone option in a Delibird shop

The easiest way to get your five Thunder Stones is to buy them from one of the Delibird shops. After completing a few gyms, they will be available for 3000 Poke Dollars at any of these shops.

You can also find them in the wild by exploring any areas that have naturally occurring electric-type Pokemon – any areas that have the lightning bolt symbol on the map. Some of the easiest ones to reach are in East Province Area 1 and Area 3.

Finally, you can buy some from the Port Marinada action house whenever they are available. This is the hardest way to acquire them though, as there is only a chance they will be there when you check. The stock does rotate each day, but since the first two options will get you some Thunder Stones with relatively low effort, you should only really get them from the auction house if you happen to be there, and they are selling one.
