Street Fighter 6 has eight different online rank tiers, which are listed here from lowest to highest:

  • Rookie
  • Iron
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Master

Each league also has different rank systems. For instance, once you reach Gold, you’ll have to rank up from Gold 1 to Gold 5 before a promotion. This is pretty standard for ranking systems in online games, fighting games or not. Your rank will be determined by LP, which you gain or lose depending on your game. Your rank will also change from character to character, so you won’t have to worry about losing rank if you decide to pick up another character later.

When starting out in ranked, you can choose the difficulty of your placements based on your experience in fighting games. For instance, absolute fighting game beginners can choose to fight enemies who are unranked or Rookies, while more intermediate players can choose to start in Silver and Gold. These are just placement matches, so there won’t solidify your ranks. There is also demotion protection starting from Iron and upwards. You also cannot demote from Iron – Gold and Master, meaning you can’t drop from Gold to Silver, or Silver to Bronze. You can demote from Platinum and Diamond, however, so be careful!

That’s all you need to know about the ranked system and online ranks in Street Fighter 6. Be sure to win as many matches as you can and climb the leaderboards. Check out our review of the full game here.
