The game is expected to follow a similar Musou playstyle to Fate/Extella from Marvelous and other games produced by Koei Tecmo. Musou (無双, Peerless/Unmatched) is an umbrella term for the action gameplay style characteristic of Koei’s Warriors games where the player fights hordes of enemies who are often far weaker, and uses extravagant cinematic special attacks to achieve dominance on the battlefield, hence the name Musou.

According to the trailer and official website, the game will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam), and it will have English subtitles. Kou Shibusawa, who has supervised many of Koei Tecmo franchises will also be involved. It was also announced that the recently released Witch on the Holy Night from the same creator company Type-Moon has exceeded 120,000 units sold worldwide.

Aniplex, which handles the production and distribution of several anime games and works, will be cooperating with the development. In addition to Type-Moon’s Witch on the Holy Night, Aniplex has also published the fighting game Melty Blood: Type Lumina and the visual novel Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-. Despite being a different IP, Melty Blood has continued to add many Fate guest characters following launch as free DLC, in addition to other characters from different Type-Moon works.

Furthermore, it was announced that the manga series Fate/Grand Order: Fujimaru Ritsuka Doesn’t Get it will recieve a short anime adaption in 2023. It is a comedy manga based on the Fate/Grand Order mobile game, and is currently being serialized in Type-Moon’s comic ace web magazine.
