A Scar Is Born Treasure Map Guide

Quick Links

The realms in God Of War Ragnarok are full of interesting characters, strong monsters, and many tasks to keep you busy. While the main story is absolutely gripping, the other content is also rewarding and helps you explore and see the beautiful realms you’re fighting through. Vanaheim may seem like a lush jungle, but far to the north lies a desert the average player may not know about.

In Vanaheim, the main story will only take you through the lower sections of the map. Unless players explore and do the side missions, they will completely skip over this area. To access this area, you’ll eventually receive the mission “Scent Of Survival” as you progress through the main story. Following this side mission will unlock this new area, where you can find the treasure map A Scar Is Born.

Finding The Treasure Map

To find this treasure map, you’ll need to do the first part of the quest, Scent of Survival, then complete the Favor Return Of The River to flood the water back into the area. To complete this, make it nighttime, and head west until you see the dam in the jungle, and the Favor will appear. Under these conditions, travel to the Crater Entrance mystic gate. From here, jump into the crater, and head west until you find a boat. Using the boat, head to the small island with the realm tear in the middle.

This realm tear can be a difficult battle, so it’s a good thing it can be skipped to obtain the map. Simply head to the back left area of the island, where you’ll find the scroll near the edge of the water. Picking up the scroll will begin the quest and spawn the treasure at its designated location.

Finding A Scar Is Born Treasure

After retrieving the map, get back on your boat and return the way you came to the entrance of the crater. From here, continue to head east for a short distance until you see massive arches in front of you. Jump down to the lower area and head towards the arch.

The treasure may be hard to see at first, but it is behind the arch and under the smaller one beneath it. This treasure only appears as a faint gold dot that may be easy to miss if you’re moving too quickly. Approach the treasure and interact with it for Kratos to use his Leviathan Axe to dig it up.

For completing this request, Kratos is given 50 XP and many useful items. Players will be given 4 Petrified Bones, 4 Luminous Alloy, 4 Asgardian Ingots, and 75 Shattered Runes. Players will also be given the amulet piece “Asgard’s Justice.” This piece boosts all of Kratos’ triangle abilities based on his total Cooldown skill level.
