The bundle will reportedly include some exciting stuff related to the upcoming Super Mario Bros movie.

According to industry insider billbil-kun, Nintendo is working on a new Switch bundle for Super Mario Bros, which includes a digital code for Mario Odyssey and some exciting stuff related to the upcoming movie. The hardware bundle is expected to release in celebration of Mario Day, which takes place on March 10.

Nintendo is rumored to be gearing up a new Switch bundle that will tie in the Super Mario Bros movie. Alongside a digital code for the Mario Odyssey game and stuff related to the movie, the bundle in question will reportedly include the 2022 version of the Nintendo Switch with a red joy-con. Although further details associated with the new version have not been revealed yet, the leaker claims it will cost €269 ($287) in France. It’s currently unclear what this exclusive stuff will be, but the bundle could give a pair of tickets for the animated film, which will land in theaters on April 7.

If the rumors are something to go by, it could be an opportunity for players who are yet to purchase a Nintendo Switch as the bundle includes a limited version of the handheld console with iconic red joy-cons. In case you missed out, Nintendo released The Mario Red & Blue Edition Switch in celebration of Mario Day last year, which sold out a couple of days after it went on sale. This special edition came with two color schemes and a carrying case that includes a Mario emblem. It also featured a screen protector to keep the console scratch-free.

Fans can also assume that Nintendo is planning something different from the 2022 version of the Mario-themed console, which could release with a different color scheme or case design. The unusual thing about the bundle is that Nintendo will choose to sell the base version of the Switch rather than the OLED model. Nintendo previously announced it will host the traditional Mario Day on March 10, during which players will dress up as Mario characters, host a Mario-themed party, and indulge in some Mario games with friends and family.

This week is apparently stuffed full of Nintendo news, as the company has signed a 10-year deal with Microsoft to bring Xbox games to the Switch console. Rumors about Splatoon coming to Super Nintendo World have also been making rounds in the last couple of days. The Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, on the other hand, has increased its stake in Nintendo to 7%, making the sovereign wealth fund the largest outside investor in the Japanese console manufacturer.
