Leather is a standard drop from several Pals, including a few that spawn next to the Plateau of Beginnings. I’ve built my base near the Plateau, but you can Fast Travel to Grassy Behemoth Hills if you’re set up elsewhere. Grassy Behemoth Hills is a great place for Leather, as you can get it from Foxsparks and Melpaca, which spawn nearby.

Once I’ve cleared the area, I Fast Travel northwest to the Desolate Church. This area has Rushoar’s, Vixy’s, and Fuack, which all drop Leather.

While it’s a little inconsistent, I run around with my Penking out as it has the Brave Sailor Partner Skill. Brave Sailor has the chance to make Fire Pals drop more items when defeated. I sometimes get double Leather drops from Foxparks, but it’s not guaranteed.

You can quickly amass a decent amount of Leather from these locations. Foxsparks, in particular, have large habitats, so hunt them whenever they appear.

What Leather Is Used for in Palworld

I wasn’t kidding when I said Leather is required for some of the most fun crafts in Palworld. Leather is a key component for most items from the Pal Gear Workbench. Most of these items are unlocked on the Technology tree and include Saddles and Pal-specific gear like the Foxpark’s Harness.

I highly recommend crafting the Foxpark’s Harness, as it turns your fiery friend into a flamethrower! Trust me; there’s no better way to spend your hard-earned resources.

Saddles allow you to ride specific Pals. While I won’t dive too deep into spoiler territory, the first Saddle you’ll likely need is for the Eikthyrdeer. These crafts don’t appear on the Technology page until you’ve caught the Pal that uses them.

Leather is also required to build every suit of armor in the game, so it’s always worth stockpiling it for the future. If you’re trying to automate your base, it helps to have the right Pals at work. Check out our guide on base-building Pals to get you started.
