According to the Palworld Steam page system requirements, the Palworld file size is around 40 GB. The storage requirement asks for at least 40 GB of available space, but my experience with storage requirements and actual install sizes tells me that Palworld will be more like 30 GB when fully downloaded.

For example, Baldur’s Gate 3’s Steam page system requirements state that you need at least 150 GB of available space to play the game. I am up-to-date with BG3 updates and the file size is a little over 140 GB. This is the case for most games; the storage requirement is usually slightly higher than the actual install size of the full game.
Can you preload Palworld? Date and time, explained
Palworld is launching on January 19, 2024, which means you’ll likely want to preload it if possible. As far as I can tell, there is no way to preload Palworld. It will release in Early Access at a set time globally or at a local time, but either way, I don’t think there is a way to preload it.
If you want to stay as informed as possible, I recommend following the official Palworld Twitter (or X) account. There, they say Palworld will launch on January 19, 2024, at 0:00 PST, which means midnight of January 18. Keep an eye on the Steam page for the official release.
