Elden Ring is the Best Game Ever

This newest entry from the original souls creators will surely give hours of enjoyment (or suffering depending on your strategy) as you get lost in an immersive world which was crafted with the help of its extensive lore. Speaking of lore, this is one of game history’s most interesting collaborations as the mythos is written by none other than the Game of Thrones author, George R.R. Martin.

Murmurs of the Erdtree

There’s also plenty to look forward to as the first DLC Shadow of the Erdtree is anticipated to be released next year. Although no actual launch date has been provided, FromSoftwares’ reveal of the expansion was rather shadowy. The Expansion was first announced with little fanfare, not at any major event you’d might expect for a developer to make a splash. Instead, it was quietly unveiled through a post on Twitter (X) with a simple image confirming its overall existence.

There has been a rumour of a potential release date pointing to February 2024, through a store listing of a controller collab. Of course the rumour source was from reddit which needs to be taken with a healthy dose of salt. Feb also seems quite soon as back in early December, Yasuhiro Kitao mentioned in an interview at the PS Partner Awards 2023, the DLC is “still some way off” but still progressing well. Although an early 2024 release date would be one year roughly from the expansion’s first announcement.

What’s in the Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion?

What exactly is in the expansion is currently unknown but could potentially have further content such as new weapons, armor, bosses, enemies and even a location.
