Super Mario Bros. Wonder releases on October 20, and if you’re looking to get into the spirit of things before Nintendo’s favorite plumber makes his return, why not grab the recent feature film adaptation? Over on Amazon, the 4K UHD edition of The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been discounted to $16.77, a whopping 44% discount from its usual price. If you’re just after the 1080p edition, a standard Blu-ray is also on sale for $13 (normally $25).
In case you missed it when it first came out, the movie the story of two Brooklyn plumbers who are brothers, best friends, and struggling to get their plumbing business off the ground. It’s not long before the duo find themselves in the Mushroom Kingdom, where they unite with Princess Peach and her allies to take on the power-hungry villain, Bowser.
“More than just another cartoon comedy, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a surprisingly great action flick,” Phil Owen wrote in GameSpot’s The Super Mario Bros. film review. “Both pretty funny and also just plain pretty–this movie is a feast for the eyes.”
For the extras on the 4K Blu-ray, the film comes with a number of behind-the-scenes featurettes, a field guide to The Super Mario Bros. universe, leadership lessons from Peach’s voice actor Anya Taylor-Joy, and a Peaches music video. Like other UHD releases, this version also comes with a 1080p Blu-ray in case you don’t have a 4K display, and a digital code for the film so that you can watch on other devices.
Over at Best Buy, a number of Disney, Star Wars, and Pixar Blu-rays are also on sale to mark the Disney 100 celebrations. For something a little less family-friendly, you can also check out these deals on Resident Evil and Final Fantasy Blu-rays that have been heavily discounted.
