Baldur’s Gate 3 Devs Narrow Down Xbox Release Window
Revealing only recently that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be coming to Xbox Series this year with a slight caveat for the Series S not getting split screen co-op. Fans have been wondering when they can expect to be playing the CRPG. In a recent interview with IGN, Larian Studios shed further light on a release window for the game.
According to Swen Vincke, director of Larian, the studio is aiming for sometime between September and November. Focus for now is to get the PS5 version out the door, which will be dropping on September 5th. However, according to Vincke the Xbox version was in “good shape” the last time they checked, and the fact they are trying to release it as soon as possible hopefully that means not too far off from the PS5 release.
It’s 2023. And 2023 is narrowing, so it’s already pretty precise in my book. Between September and November… So, as fast as we can honestly.

Previously during Gamescom 2023, Larian revealed that the Xbox Series S version will not be receiving split screen co-op upon release for the Xbox version. This was the cause for the delay for Baldur’s Gate 3 coming to the platform and why it won’t be launching alongside the PS5 version. This made an accidental platform console exclusive at least for the time being, however, news that the release is imminent for Xbox is good news all around.
Larian seem to be rolling out patches quite frequently with the latest being one bringing over 1000 bug fixes plus class changes for Patch 1. Patch 2 is also “just around the corner” so all good things heading the game.
