How to complete Labs Investigation in Warzone 2 DMZ

Faction missions in Warzone 2’s DMZ mode range from suspiciously simple to frustratingly hard. ‘Labs Investigation’ for Black Mous can fall into either of these extreme ends depending on who you ask. Just by looking at the mission’s objectives, seasoned players should immediately know how much work needs to be done. So, strap up and prepare for a long fight across several sessions. Here’s how you can complete the Labs Investigation mission in Warzone 2 DMZ.

Acquiring a Building 21 Access Card

Since the Labs Investigation mission takes place inside Building 21, players will need to get an access card from any of the available DMZ maps. However, this is easier said than done, considering the nature of the game. Here’s how to get an access card:

  • Open orange chests.
  • Loot supply drops.
  • Take down the Helicopter Commander.
  • Complete HVT contracts.
  • Purchase one from a buy station.

Unfortunately, all of these methods (except for the last one) involve copious amounts of luck. Securing chests, supply drops, and HVT kills don’t always drop access cards, so it may take players several matches before they can obtain one. Plus, they’ll still have to extract with the card on their inventory.

Building 21 Access Cards are sold in buy stations for a whopping $40,000 a pop. To get this much money, go and farm Contracts, loot safes, and raid Strongholds in a single DMZ match (and try not to die along the way).

Finding the generator room

Now for the tricky part. Labs Investigation will have players skulking through Building 21’s halls in search of the generator room, which only opens after all the security locks get deactivated. This usually happens once the countdown timer reaches 11:00.

The generator room is located on the same floor as the parking garage. Look for a sign on the wall that says either A1 or B1 and go through the adjacent doorway. The Building 21 generator room is right between these two entrances (look for the grey door with the DRC logo). If you see either C1 or D1 on the walls, head to the opposite end of the garage.

Entering the room will immediately tick the objective off of the Labs Investigation mission card and grant players access to Black Mous’ Tier 2 jobs. Still, bear in mind that there will be a squad of NPCs inside the room. Be prepared for a short firefight.
