Wave 3 of the Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass will arrive next week.
Nintendo has announced that the third wave of the Fire Emblem Engage expansion pass will be available in North America and Europe on March 8. The upcoming pack will include Chrom/Robin and Veronica as Emblem characters in the game.
Fire Emblem Engage received the second content pack as part of the paid expansion pass early last month, which added Hector, Soren, and Camilla, along with new support items and accessories. The next batch of DLC, which includes additional three Emblem heroes Chrom, Robin, and Veronica, will be available in North America and Europe next week. Players who already purchased the $29.99 expansion pass will receive the third wave after reaching a certain point in the game.
Players will be able to add either Chrom, Robin, or Veronica to their ranks by completing one of the newly-added Divine Paralogues. Veronica has her own bracelet, while Chrom and Robin will only have one. This wave will be followed by a fourth wave, which will introduce an additional class type and a new story scenario.
It will feature new characters, locations, and maps for players to discover and expand their ranks. These DLC packs can not be purchased individually, meaning they must own the expansion pass to try out the new content.
Fire Emblem Engage is the latest installment in Nintendo’s exclusive RPG series, which launched to a mixed launch with praises for its revived mechanics but also critiqued for the lack of genuine innovation. In our Fire Emblem Engage review, we said: “Fire Emblem Engage is mostly a streamlined experience that gives you a taste of what the series has to offer, but doesn’t showcase its true potential as a strategy game. It doesn’t quite meet the standards set by previous entries or establish a challenging and balanced system that reflects Fire Emblem’s core identity.”
Just like the previous Emblems released as part of DLC packs, Veronica, Chrom, and Robin can be unlocked via the Divine Paralogues islands. Paralogues in Fire Emblem Engage lets players recruit characters that are only accessible during special missions. Though they do not build up something new for the story, Paralogues are additional chapters that work as side missions.
