God Of War Ragnarok: How To Beat Miklimunnr
God of War Ragnarok is full of optional content and side bosses. Here’s how to beat Miklimunnr.
Kratos and Atreus make a long-awaited return in God of War Ragnarok. Characters old and new take center stage in this thrilling narrative-focused adventure. You’ll visit incredible locations and journey through fantastical lands during your time with Ragnarok. It’s no wonder the game has enjoyed massive sales and stellar reviews. While the main story is incredible, you’ll also be treated to tons of optional content like side quests and challenging bosses.
You’ll encounter Miklimunnr if you go back to where you first freed Tyr. Instead of finding an empty arena, you’ll find this enormous fire troll waiting for you. This is an optional boss, but if you’re in the area, why not take on a bit of a challenge? If you’ve come here looking for tips and tricks on how to take down this creature, you’ve come to the right place!
Beating Down Miklimunnr
This troll is a powerhouse. Fortunately, it doesn’t have a lot of special attacks to track. You’ll want to keep an eye out for two attacks with red rings and one attack with a yellow ring. Miklimunnr is also terribly slow, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get in a lot of hits.
Pillar Slam
When you see the red ring around the troll’s chest, it’s about to slam the pillar down on you. Since this attack has a red ring, you’ll have to dodge out of the way instead of trying to block. If you try to do anything but dodge, the troll will punish you for it.
Fire Stomp
If you see a red ring around the troll’s leg, it’s about to fire stomp. When it stomps, fire will erupt where you are standing. This attack cannot be blocked, parried, or interrupted, so you only option is to dodge as quickly as possible. If you manage to get out of the way, you’ll avoid all damage.
Pillar Swipe
When you see a yellow ring, it means Miklimunnr is going to swipe at you with its enormous pillar. You can’t block this attack, but you can perform a parry if you block perfectly. Your other option is to dodge out of the way. Both options are perfectly viable in this scenario.
Trigger The Takedown
Once you’ve taken enough all of the troll’s health, you’ll be prompted to trigger a takedown with R3. Run up and do this as fast as you can, because there is a time limit. Congratulations! Once you’ve triggered the takedown the boss will be defeated!
