Fire Emblem Engage Introduces Healer Micaiah

0

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have been showcasing new playable characters that will appear in Fire Emblem Engage ahead of launch, and this time it was Micaiah’s turn to be introduced with her versatile moveset. The ‘Emblem of Dawn’ will serve as a healer and support for the party thanks to her high magic powers and ability to use Staves.

Micaiah, also known as Silver-Haired Maiden, first appeared as the primary protagonist of the first part of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, specializing in healing and foresight to pull her team from tough positions. The leader of the Dawn Bridge wields Light Magic as the first character since Celica (Fire Emblem Gaiden) in the Fire Emblem series to fight with magic. From the looks of the introduction trailer, which is viewable below, Micaiah utilizes her healing and foresight abilities while possessing mysterious powers that could change the course of combat in favor of her party.

Serving as healer and support, Micaiah allows her party members to use Staves regardless of their fighting style. Her sync skill can be combined with high mobility units to get access to some healers. Micaiah’s engage weapon is Shine, which can illuminate its surroundings after using Light Magic. Her engage skill, on the other hand, allows the Priestess of Dawn to heal party members from afar, as it amplifies the range and effectiveness of Staves. Micaiah also has the ability to block the movements of enemies from distance thanks to this engage skill.

Micaiah has also an engage attack in her moveset, which allows her to exchange some of the Unit’s HP to completely heal nearby allies. However, players should pay extra attention while using the ‘Great Healing Touch’ ability as it causes the Unit’s HP to drop to 1, making it vulnerable against foes.

Alongside Celica, Sigurd, Leif, Roy, Lyn, and Eirika, Micaiah will be one of the playable Emblem characters that are confirmed to appear in Fire Emblem Engage. On their way to collect 12 Emblem Rings and bring peace to the continent of Elyos, players will team up with characters from past Fire Emblem games and add their powers to their moveset by building a team of heroes. They will also encounter new faces across the continent, such as Framme, Alear, and Lumera who will add to the game’s story.

In case you missed out, developer Intelligent Systems previously introduced the Somniel, the player’s base of operations located in the sky. There will be plentiful hub activities spread in the Somniel for those who want to explore the other parts of Fire Emblem Engage, such as daily life, side stories, mini-games, and more. The upcoming turn-based RPG is due to release exclusively for Nintendo Switch on January 20th.
