Arthur agrees to battle Durvus, while Tessia and her friends look concerned. Arthur asks the reason for the battle, to which he replies that it’s a battle for a man’s pride. Drogo explains the rules of the battle and wonders if Arthur could win, as Darvus is a competent fighter. Finally, the fight begins, and Darvus moves instantly to attack Arthur. Stannard looks concerned as this is the first time he senses fear from Darvus.
Darvus tries multiple attacks on Arthur, but he evades every single one of them and then punches him in the guts. Arthur’s speed surprises him a lot, after which he tries to attack again. But Arthur manages to evade his attacks again and then punches him at multiple positions in his body. Darvus falls, and Caria comments that it’s the Mana Flow Rupturing technique. Stannard is impressed and says that the points that need to be pressed to activate the technique are nearly impossible to target.
As a result, Darvus is not able to move, but Virion arrives and assures him that he will be fine. Arthur, Virion, and Aldir then have a conversation, and Tessia joins them. Virion then takes Arthur to talk about his training and the ongoing war, and Aldir tells Tessia to stay behind. Before leaving, Aldir praises Tessia for getting stronger, and Arthur also seems impressed by her overwhelming strength. Arthur, Aldir, and Virion stand near a glowing gate, and a human foot seems to step from the other side. But the chapter ends with the arrival of a giant bear-like beast.
