Marvel Snap’s Savage Land Season Adds New Character, Variants, And Locations
Second Dinner has released a new developer update to detail all the new content coming with Marvel Snap’s Savage Land Season, including a new character, variants, locations, and card packs. Players also got a glimpse of the much-awaited battle mode, which allows them to take on friends in online play.
Hot on the heels of the Winterverse event, Marvel Snap announced its most content-packed season yet, Savage Land, which brings a catalog of new playable variants, locations, cards, and seasonal rewards. However, the most notable addition to the game as part of the new season is Zabu, a new character available in the Premium Season Pass. Zabu costs three energy and has two powers combined with its five variants and “ongoing” effect.
The Savage Land season also adds brand-new cards that will be available to unlock on the Collection Level Track & Token Shop – Sauron, Dazzler, Shadow King, and Shanna. Do note that these cards will be added to Series 5, and players should expect them to release on a weekly basis. Here are the exact times when players can add fan-favorite characters to their decks, including Silver Surfer:
- January 4th: Silver Surfer – Series 5 Release
- January 10th: Sauron – Series 5 Release
- January 17th: Shanna – Series 5 Release
- January 24th: Dazzler – Series 5 Release
- January 31st: Shadow King – Series 5 Release
Savage Land also introduces truly wild locations that shake things up for players, including Rickety Bridge, Altar of Death, Eternity Range, Plunder Castle, and Collapsed Mine. As its name suggests, players will fill the Collapsed Mine with rocks, as they can skip a turn to destroy their rocks. Plunder Castle requires players to show their strategic prowess with only cards that cost six, while Eternity Range allows them to add a Rock to the losing player’s side after the third turn.
Players will be able to get +2 energy by destroying a card they have already played before in the Altar of Death location, whilst the new Rickety Bridge location requires players to destroy a card after each turn until there is only one left on the table.
New variants for Storm, Zabu, Ka-Zar, She-Hulk, Shuri, and Enchantress were also introduced with the Savage Land Season, along with two exclusive bundles, Primal Masterpiece and Dino Sized. The developer team also detailed the upcoming battle mode, which allows players to compete against each other in friendly matches.
Battle mode results will not affect players’ rank, meaning they can test out their decks without losing rank points. In the new mode, each player starts with 10 health as they join a series of games against friends with the same deck until one of them has no health left.
There is still no firm release date for the Battle Mode, but Marvel Snap players can enjoy the Savage Land season starting from today.
