CrossfireX And Babylon’s Fall Are Among The Worst Rated Metacritic Games Of 2022
Platinum Games developed both one of the best and one of the worst games of 2022.
It’s not always great to make it to a top-10 list, especially if it is about a list of worst-rated games of the year! As spotted by VGC, Metacritic recently shared the top 10 games with the worst reviews in 2022, and it features some titles with big worldwide showcases.
Postal 4: No Regrets is officially the worst-rated game of 2022 on Metacritic with an overall Metascore of 30. The closest follower of this indie shooter filled with bugs and crashes is CrossfireX, an Xbox Series X|S exclusive title that looked promising in its breathtaking trailers before launch. While fans did hope Remedy Entertainment’s involvement in the single-player mode of the project could be a good sign for a compelling action experience, but the game wasn’t even close to a mediocre shooter.
The third place on the list belongs to the developers of Bayonetta 3. As shocking as it might sound, both Bayonetta 3 and Babylon’s Fall were developed by a single studio. While the former was already one of the huge hits of this year, the latter was so awful that its publisher will shut down the game’s servers earlier next year.
The rest of the list mostly belongs to indie games on either consoles or PC. You can check out the full list down below:
- Postal 4: No Regrets (PC) – 30
- CrossfireX (Xbox Series X) – 38
- Babylon’s Fall (PS5) – 41
- XEL (Switch) – 43
- Arc of Alchemist (Switch) – 46
- Zorro: The Chronicles (PS5) – 49
- The Last Oricru (Xbox Series X) – 50
- The Waylanders (PC) – 51
- Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief (PS4) – 52
- Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition (Switch) – 52
The interesting thing about Postal 4: No Regrets is the fact that it has a “Mostly Positive” review tag on Steam with 76% of players recommending it. It obviously reveals a huge gap between media reviews and community reviews and is probably proof that Metacritic score doesn’t say all about a game, even if it is the worst-rated game of the year.
If you are curious about the best-rated games of the year, Elden Ring is leading the list with a Metascore of 96 as an original 2022 release.
