Rainbow Six Siege’s Ranked 2.0 Features Leaked
While the official announcement for Rainbow Six Siege Y7S4 Operation Solar Raid has been set for November 21, a huge number of Ubisoft’s surprise for the new season has already been leaked online, including some changes coming to Ranked 2.0.
Twitter user Dumbhael, who has been a trustworthy leak source for Rainbow Six Siege for a while, recently shared a new video from the Ranked 2.0 menu, where you can spot the addition of a new rank between Platinum and Diamond, called Emerald. Moreover, the video reveals that the revamped Ranked mode will feature more rewards from next season rather than a single charm. Reaching each new rank in the Ranked mode will unlock a specific charm, a universal background for Operator cards, as well as a few Alpha Packs. In certain tiers of every given rank, you will receive an Alpha Pack.
Unfortunately, the video doesn’t share any details on possible changes to the amount of MMR earned or received during each match. Rainbow Six Siege’s MMR system usually considers the match result as the key factor to determine the amount of MMR received or lost, which could be adjusted by the rank of your teammates and opponents, but at the end of the day, the game’s MMR system doesn’t value the personal performance of players at all, subtracting from or adding to each player’s MMR with the same amount as others within a team.
Other leaks from the new season reveal that Ubisoft may implement a new system in Rainbow Six Siege where Friendly Fire will be disabled in the Preparation Phase, which could stop toxic players from killing teammates or sabotaging their gadgets before the Action Phase begins. It remains unknown what modes will be affected by this change and how effective it could be in stopping toxic players from ruining the game for others, as Friendly Fire will be enabled again as soon as the Action Phase begins.
While a release date is yet to be announced, the next season of Rainbow Six Siege is expected to arrive earlier in December 2022.
