Following the introduction trailer earlier this week, developer Firaxis Games has dropped yet another video for its turn-based RPG, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, showing off Ghost Rider’s cards, powers, and abilities that players will utilize to create combos during fights.

Ghost Rider was first introduced with a short trailer a couple of days ago, detailing his origins and backstory in the Midnight Suns universe, where The Hunter and her team of superheroes fight against Mother Lilith. This time, an extensive gameplay trailer dedicated to Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes) showcases what cards and abilities the fan-favorite hero will have at his disposal. Starting with an introduction to Johnny Blaze, the original Ghost Rider, the trailer gives players their first detailed look at what his abilities will look like.

One of Ghost Rider’s core abilities is Immolate, which acts as a setup for follow-up attacks. It makes enemies KO’d by Ghost Rider for the next two rounds become ticking time bombs and explode, generating above-average heroism, so players can use it later in the combat. As a distinct mechanic for Ghost Rider, each knockout will increase his souls meter by one block, and once it is full, players will draw a drain soul card with lifesteal effects. Moreover, once a drain soul card is played, it gives all drain soul cards an extra chain attack. All in all, players are better off to get as many knockouts as possible to keep their souls meter filling.

His ability kit also features Judgment, which consumes 25 percent of Ghost Rider’s current health to damage an enemy and everything else nearby. Perhaps most excitingly, the Hell Ride ability, as its name implies, allows players to summon a muscle car, or ride, from hell to rush down every enemy in a line. Last but not least, Ghost Rider’s ultimate ability, Penance Stare, consumes 50 percent of his current health to target an enemy and deal four damage per health consumed. As seen in the trailer, Ghost Rider is better against singular opponents with his uniform ability kit.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been expanding its roster of playable heroes before launch, with Firaxis announcing four new characters as part of the season pass: Venom, Storm, Deadpool, and Morbius. The tactical RPG will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC via Steam on December 2.
