Sony Confirms PlayStation VR2 Will Release In February 2023
The PlayStation VR2 headset will be released worldwide on February 22nd, 2023, Sony has confirmed in a new blog post. Pre-orders for the headset and controller charging station will open on November 15th at select retailers, whilst those in the US, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg will initially be able to pre-order through PlayStation Direct.
Alongside the release date announcement, Sony also confirmed all of the pricing details for the PS VR2 and the official Sense controller charging station. The standalone PS VR2 headset with Sense controllers and stereo headphones is priced at $549.99 / €599.99 / £529.99, whilst a special Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle with a voucher code for Guerilla Games’ upcoming VR title is priced at $599.99 / €649.99 / £569.99.
Not included in either of the bundles is the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station, which can be purchased separately for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. Sony states the station allows users to charge the PS VR2 Sense controller through a simple click-in design, without having to connect to a PS5 console, thus freeing up the console’s USB ports.
Sony also confirmed that standalone titles, such as Horizon Call of the Mountain, will be made available for pre-order starting this month, with more details being provided at a later date. But, in a separate blog post, Sony also confirmed 11 new titles for the PS VR2, including:
- The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR
- Crossfire: Sierra Squad
- The Light Brigade
- Cities VR – Enhanced Edition
- Cosmonious High
- Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue
- Jurassic World Aftermath Collection
- Pistol Whip VR
- Zenith: The Last City

A full breakdown of all of the above games can be found on the official PlayStation website.
