It’s been a while since we last met Guybrush Threepwood, but the anticipation is almost over as Return to Monkey Island will once again take us to a trip led by Guybrush.
Return to Monkey Island is supposed to be launched on September 19, but for some Eastern Asian and Oceania regions, the release date will be shifted to the earlier hours of September 20. Below, you can check out the exact release time for each major region:
PC (Steam):
- North America: September 19 at 8 am PT/11 am ET
- Europe: September 19 at 3 pm UTC/4 pm BST/5 pm CEST
- Eastern Asia & Oceania: September 20 at 12 am JST/1 am AEST/3 am NZST
Nintendo Switch:
- Regarding the fact that new Nintendo Switch games are unlocked every day at 9 am PT/12 pm ET, it is expected that the Switch version of Return to Monkey Island releases at the aforementioned time in the US.
The game requires nearly 5 GB of free space on Switch and 4 GB on PC. Both PC and Switch versions of Return to Monkey Island will be available for $24.99. You can now pre-order the game and receive the exclusive Armor Horse for free at launch. As you may already know, Horse Armor doesn’t have any practical use in the game, but it will be mark for your support of the developers.
If you are an old-school gamer, then you probably remember Monkey Island series, especially for its incredible stories and one-of-a-kind gameplay system. Hopefully, Ron Gilbert is back again with another Monkey Island entry and he will continue the story of Guybrush Threepwood, his nemesis LeChuck, and his true love Elaine Marley.
Despite featuring a handful of familiar characters, you will feel that so many things have been changed in Return to Monkey Island. From Guybrush’s beloved Elaine to the Melee Island, which now has a new management.
Currently, there is no word on if Return to Monkey Island will be available on Xbox or PlayStation on a later date.
