How To Get More Emotes

0

There are some key elements that are a part of a majority of multiplayer shooter games which you would be surprised to see left out when playing a new game. Emotes are one of the most prevalent staples, so it’s no surprise that Splatoon 3 has them included as well. Getting these is pretty rare though in the game, as you will not be unlocking them all that often.

Earning additional emotes in Splatoon 3 come with leveling up, but it’s not going to happen by leveling up your character in the game. Rather, you instead need to level up your catalog that you get after visiting Hotlantis for the first time, which is the General Store run by Harmony in the game. You will not be able to visit Hotlantis until you reach level 4 with your character though.

What Emotes Are Available In The First Season Of Splatoon 3?

After visiting the store for the first time, Harmony will give you the Catalog, which serves as the Battle Pass within Splatoon 3 that will rotate every three months. The first of these is known as Drizzle Season 2022 and will run through November 30, 2022. There will be subsequent catalogs with new items.

As for emotes in Splatoon 3, you will need to level up this catalog over the next few months to earn a number of different rewards that include emotes. In fact, you will earn emotes at the following levels:

  • Level 3
  • Level 15
  • Level 35
  • Level 51
  • Level 76
  • Level 98

As you can see, there are only six of them that you can obtain for now beyond the one default emote that you get in the game. To get a better idea of what all the rewards will be, you can download the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app and sign into the Splatoon 3 section to see them all.

The one emote that people will probably really be aiming to get is the dab emote, though that one will require you to level up your catalog to level 98 to unlock. As a result, it’s going to be a while before you get there more than likely.

Leveling up your catalog will not seem quite as arduous as leveling up your character, as there are more opportunities to boost the catalog. For starters, you get a bonus XP for winning your first match of the day. Beyond that, just playing matches in Turf War will reward you with catalog XP, regardless of whether you win or lose. Winning will give you more though.

Turf War isn’t the only method to earn catalog XP though, as you can also play Salmon Run as well to earn it. This gives you an alternate game mode that you can play, which allows you to bounce back and forth between the two to avoid the monotony of one versus the other when grinding for the XP.

Once the new catalog comes out, there will be additional emotes and more rewards to earn, but you still have six of them to work towards for the time being.
