The world of V Rising is fraught with many dangers. The first region alone, Farbane Woods, already offers a lot of challenges for any aspiring vampire lord. Here’s our V Rising boss guide to help you with all the locations of major enemies and V Blood sources in Farbane Woods.

Farbane Woods map and boss locations in V Rising

Below, you’ll see the map of Farbane Woods in V Rising, as well as the approximate locations of the bosses in the region. They have been numbered according to their recommended power level/gear score listing in the Blood Altar.

1
Alpha Wolf

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 16.
Location: Wolf Den.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Wolf Form.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: N/A.

The Alpha Wolf will likely be the first Farbane Woods boss that you fight in V Rising. That’s because it’ll pop up on the quest tracker if you’ve been following the previous requirements. It’s also how you’ll learn about the Blood Altar and the acquisition of V Blood abilities.

2
Keely the Frost Archer

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 20.
Location: Bandit Trapper Camp.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Frost Bat.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Tannery, Traveller’s Wrap, Empty Canteen, Leather.

Keely’s projectiles can be easily dodged and telegraphed. In some cases, the caged bear will even attack her, making for an easier bout.

3
Errol the Stonebreaker

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 20.
Location: Bandit Copper Mine.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Aftershock.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Big Stash.

Errol’s attacks are slow, though there are shockwaves that follow the cracks on the ground after a second has passed. He’ll also summon more miner mobs once he’s below 50% HP. You can cast Blood Rite when you’re about to take damage to heal up and push enemies away.

4
Rufus the Foreman

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 20.
Location: Bandit Logging Camp.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Blood Rage.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Woodworking Bench, Hunter’s Crossbow, Fishing Pole, Sculptured Wood, Painting Frame.

Rufus and his pals like to throw nets that will trap you in place. Dodge these so you don’t become vulnerable.

5
Lidia the Chaos Archer

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 26.
Location: Roaming the roads east and northeast of the Bandit Logging Camp.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Chaos Volley.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: The Devourer.

Lidia’s projectiles inflict Chaos Burn, a damage-over-time (DOT) effect. Once you’ve beaten her, you’ll have access to The Devourer, a structure that allows you to dismantle items for raw materials.

6
Goreswine the Ravager

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 27.
Location: Infested Graveyard and the roads leading to it.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Corpse Explosion and Veil of Bones.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Tomb, Nocturne Fences, Skeleton, and Ghoul.

Goreswine tends to walk along the roads leading up to the Infested Graveyard. It’s better to fight him while he’s roaming, as the graveyard itself is filled with necromancers that will keep summoning the undead.

7
Grayson the Armorer

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 27.
Location: Bandit Armory.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Crimson Aegis.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Five-Finger Workboards, Long Boards, Assortment of Statues, and Whetstone.

Like other Farbane Woods bosses in V Rising, Grayson will also be protected by a lot of mobs in his base.

8
Putrid Rat

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 30.
Location: Vermin Nest.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Rat Form.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: N/A.

While most Farbane Woods bosses in V Rising can be tracked, the Putrid Rat is quite different. Instead, you’ll have to build a structure called the Vermin Net. It’s found in the Production – Refinement tab, and it costs 360x Stone and 120x Bone. Once you’re done, interact with it to spawn this giant rodent that will also spawn more critters for you to take out. You’ll be rewarded with the Rat Form ability so you can squeeze through small gaps in caverns and cliffs.

9
Clive the Firestarter

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 30.
Location: Bandit Sulfur Quarry.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Veil of Chaos.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Alchemy Table, Assortment of Enchanted Braziers, Assortment of Enchanted Torches, Sulfur, and Minor Explosive Bag.

Clive and his cohort will lob lots of bombs your way. Try to avoid the explosions or you’ll take a lot of damage. Among the rewards you’ll obtain after feeding on him are the recipes for Sulfur and Minor Explosive Bag. In turn, these will let you blow up larger mineral nodes and obstacles.

10
Polora the Feywalker

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 34.
Location: Gleaming Meadows.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Spectral Wolf and Veil of Illusion.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Vampire Waygate, Garden Floors, Minor Garlic Resistance Brew.

Polora likes to teleport and summon other creatures. Her initial projectile, the Spectral Wolf, fires in a straight line. Her Pixies, meanwhile, toss silvery orbs that have a wavy pattern.

11
Ferocious Bear

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 36.
Location: Bear Cave.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Bear Form.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Fur Rugs.

Apart from attacks that will maul you to death, the Ferocious Bear also likes to trample on the ground. This will create cascading red circles, denoting stalactites that will fall on those spots.

12
Quincey the Bandit King

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 37.
Location: Bandit Stronghold.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Chaos Barrier and Merciless Charge.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Smithy, Tailoring Bench, Iron Ingot, Iron Weapons, Hallowfang Battlegear.

The explosives that you can craft after beating Clive the Firestarter will let you destroy the gates to the Bandit Stronghold. At the very end, you’ll fight Quincey that Bandit King.

He’s similar to Errol the Stonebreaker in that he’s got a shockwave attack. The big difference, however, is that there are multiple shockwave trails right from the start, whereas Errol only does this at 50% HP. Quincey also has a deflection ability, and a bull rush charge (which will likely hit you if you’re held in place by a trapper’s net).

13
Nicholaus the Fallen

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 37.
Location: Forgotten Cemetery.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Pestilence and Ward of the Damned.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Study.

Nicholaus the Fallen is a fairly tough Farbane Woods boss in V Rising. To start things off, he’ll have a teleport AoE strike, as well as numerous skeleton mobs that he summons. As his HP gets lower, he’ll cast green skulls that swirl around him. More and more skeletons will also appear, making skills like Blood Rite and the sword weapon’s Whirlwind integral for crowd control.

14
Tristan the Vampire Hunter

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 46.
Location: Traveling along the roads near Bandit Copper Mine.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Blood Hunger.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: Greater Blood Essence.

Given that Tristan the Vampire Hunter roams near the central section of Farbane Woods, you’ll stumble upon him early in the game (and he’ll probably wipe the floor with you to boot). His abilities include fast melee strikes that cause flaming bursts. At 50% HP, he’ll use his crossbow, which also causes fire to spread to the surrounding area.

15
The Winged Horror

Recommended Level/Gear Score: 78.
Location: The Dreaded Peak.
Vampiric Powers/Abilities: Frost Vortex.
Crafting Structures and Recipes: N/A.

You can only reach The Winged Horror’s location in V Rising once you’ve obtained the Bat Form ability. At the start, its attacks are already a doozy, given that it has fireballs and ice shards that erupt into more projectiles. Later on, it’ll fly through the air and bombard you, and it’ll breathe out more fireballs. This is a battle of attrition, as the encounter is akin to a “bullet hell” where you’ll want to avoid countless projectiles consistently.
