Halo Infinite online campaign co-op will begin public testing next month

Developer 343 Industries has announced that Halo insiders will be able to test out the online portion of Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op next month. The official launch of the online cooperative campaign mode is coming sometime in August. But, much like with many other online features, the developer wants to test it with players before the full release.

As announced on the Halo Twitter account, registered insiders will be able to participate in the testing of the online campaign co-op. Players who are interested in trying out the feature can register to be a Halo Insider and opt-in to have a chance at being included in future beta tests. 343 often limits the number of players that can participate in Halo tests. So, getting in isn’t a guarantee. Campaign co-op for Halo Infinite will reportedly arrive late in Season 2, which is currently running and will end on November 8.

Halo is slowly getting back on track

Many Halo Infinite players have criticized the slow rollout of popular series modes like campaign co-op. The developer has stated its concern over the well-being of its team, which it plans to prioritize. That does offer some reasoning behind why season 2 of Halo Infinite was extended to six months. Many features were pushed back, but they will make their way into the game this year.

The map editing Forge mode is scheduled to make its debut, in beta form, later in Season 2. The developer has already been testing Forge mode with a limited selection of players. We can imagine that player-made maps will add some much-appreciated new content to the game.

There have also been rumors about a battle royale mode, codenamed Tatanka, which could be in development with developer Certain Affinity. Hopefully, we’ll see something new about the future of Halo Infinite at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase this week.
