Street Fighter 6 was officially revealed with a gameplay trailer during today’s State of Play showcase, and it will bring some first-ever features to the franchise.

Tonight was a pretty big one for fighting fans as Capcom officially shed some light on the next entry of the Street Fighter series. Unlike previous entries, the game seems to be inspired by western culture more than before, but it doesn’t mean fans wouldn’t like it!

Street Fighter 6 will still feature the iconic fighters of the franchise such as Ryu and Chun-Li, but you can also expect some new faces such as Jamie! The full roster of the game is yet to be revealed, however.

Street Fighter 6 Will Feature a Story-Driven Single-Player Campaign As Well As a Battle Hub for Multiplayer Experience

Capcom is working on a large-scale story-driven campaign for Street Fighter 6, where they aim to break the usual cliche and deliver something completely new, providing more opportunities for players to get to know their characters and interact with other NPCs.

Moreover, the game will feature a Battle Hub, which is a unique space dedicated to the multiplayer section of the game. While Battle Hub is your main area for matchmaking and tournaments, you can also use some unique and new communication and social features to interact with other players. More about this will be revealed later.

Last but not least, Capcom reassured newcomers to the Street Fighter franchise that they would implement a modern control system for characters, allowing new players to quickly learn about the gameplay mechanics. That being said, the classic control system will still remain in the series. So, there is nothing to worry about!

Street Fighter 6 will be available in Summer 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
