The Heroes of Arkesia will be excited once more for the upcoming content that will soon be arriving on the Western Shores. Originally launched back in 2019 exclusively in Korea, Lost Ark has already had a ton of content released so far. Even though the Western release is less than 4 months old, it has been playing catch up at a very steady pace.
Teams from Amazon Games visited Smilegate RPG in Korea and have discussed at length what they intend to ship for us in the coming months. Let’s take a look at what we have in store for us very very soon.
Lost Ark June Content Update
Coming in most likely late June (if this will follow the April and May content timings) are a few totally new activities. As with most content teases, the Lost Ark roadmap doesn’t contain all of what’s coming. Think of these as more of a highlight reel on the juiciest bits.
Vykas Legion Raid
June’s heaviest hitter is definitely the second Legion Commander Raid, coming just a month after Valtan started terrorizing our shores. Vykas will serve as another challenging piece of endgame content that will require 8 players to participate in.
As legion raids are the most difficult encounters available in Lost Ark, players must come prepared. They will require teamwork, practice, and communication to be able to triumph through Legion Raid challenges. Oh, and players will need to have reached item level 1430 for Vykas Normal Mode and 1460 for Hard Mode.
To reward successful clears, players will also get materials to complete their Relic Tier gear sets.
Kungelanium, the next Guardian Raid
Coming in as the 2nd Level 6 Guardian is Kungelanium. This Guardian Raid follows right in Deskaluda’s footsteps, and will also be quite the challenge. Our new frost turtle friend (who looks eerily similar to Chromanium and Lava Chromanium) will also reward players with materials for Relic Tier gear.
To be able to face off against this chilling beast, players must have reached a minimum of item level 1460.
Thronespire
For those who want a breather from multi-player content will have another option in the upcoming Thronespire. This single-player dungeon will be composed of 50 separate levels, similar to the Shadowspire and Fatespire towers. However, this is where similarities end. While the earlier two towers were composed of fixed challenges, Thronespire instead will have heroes battling wave after wave of demons.
Think of it as a challenge mode, similar to that of Returnal’s Tower of Sisyphus. Players will battle until they’re completely overwhelmed. Completion times will be recorded and set on a leaderboard.
Yoz’s Jar, the New Cosmetic Gatcha
Have you ever wanted to apply a skin over your skin in Lost Ark? Now you can skin your skins with another skin! If that’s not confusing at all, you can look forward to Yoz’s Jar. This new item contains a randomized Epic or Legendary tier skin that you can apply to your characters.
If you don’t like what you get, you can deconstruct the skin and get “Cloth” in return. Jamming some cloth into the Jar will give players the chance at a different skin. Previously all skins in Lost Ark could be purchased, but now it looks like they’re introducing a Lootbox/Gatcha system.
Lastly, if you get a Legendary Skin, but don’t like the looks of it, you can apply a different skin on top of it.
Yoz’s Jar will be available at the in-game store in June.
Lost Ark July Content Update
July will come as a sort of breather in terms of “new” content for Lost Ark Players. One of the highlights for this month is the Arcanist. The Lost Ark team has also detailed their plans on releasing a new class every two months now, instead of every month like the Destroyer and Glaivier.
Introducing the Arcanist, the Newest Mage Advanced Class
July’s update plans to release the Mage’s third advanced class, joining the West’s Sorceress and Bard. Initially, the Summoner and Bard were supposed to be released first in the West but got changed last minute.
The Arcanist (or Arcana in other regions) is basically Gambit in wizard form. Arcanists rely on the luck of the draw and the many tricks up their sleeve to succeed in combat. She is able to enchant the cards in her deck with magic and cause some devastating effects.
“Card Deck” is the Arcanist’s specialty skill. Any attacks or skills that hit enemies will fill up her specialty gauge. When it has been filled up, random effects will be drawn from the deck and affect the battlefield in many different ways.
Valtan Legion Raid, Inferno Difficulty
As if Valtan Normal and Hard Modes weren’t enough, Smilegate RPG is implementing the Inferno Difficulty for the Valtan encounter in July. In other regions, this difficulty is labeled “Hell Mode” and it is named aptly so. The difficulty will only be available for heroes of item level 1445 and above.
Inferno Difficulty will scale all players to a specific level in relation to the Legion Commander they are facing. This means that even overgeared players will not have any advantage whatsoever in this difficult encounter. “Scale of Balance” will be applied, and that means players will need to pre-set their loadouts in the Book of Coordination.
Gate Progression will also not be available in the Inferno Difficulty. You can no longer do the first boss and come back later on for the second. All Inferno Difficulty clears must be done in one sitting.
Lastly, Inferno Difficulty will not yield the usual rewards of upgrade materials. Instead, the hardiest of heroes will be graced with Titles, Achievements, and other items to show off how hardcore they are.
Challenge Abyss Dungeons
Just like the Challenge Guardian Raids introduced in May come the Challenge Abyss Dungeons. These will basically be harder versions of the existing Abyss Dungeons, such as Tranquil Karkosa or the Sea of Indolence.
Challenge Abyss Dungeons will also normalize the power level of the players undertaking the encounter. The dungeons will also rotate so that things keep fresh, and can all be done once a week.
