Dwerve, a Tower Defence/RPG Mash-Up, Launches Today – GameSpew
Launching today, Dwerve challenges you to earn fame and fortune with just your wits, a pick-axe and some handy monster-murdering towers.
No, it’s not all about gold, no matter how many times Thorin keeps sitting down and singing about it. Dwerve’s protagonist is after ancient dwarven technologies which have remained abandoned/buried or both in the ruins beneath their feet. The fact they’ve not been retrieved already should serve as a warning sign, but there you go.
We got our hands on Dwerve back in 2021, and came away fairly impressed, remarking that “..for a first title that’s some months away from release, it’s already feeling pretty accomplished.” It was part-funded via Kickstarter, and while it missed its original release window of June 2021, developer Half Human Games did at least keep backers updated.

The trailer makes combat look suitably frenetic, with your tinkerer constructing turrets and the like as fast as their feet can carry them. We like that you’re not playing as a bruiser and that it’s your characters smarts that, in a roundabout way, determine how long they stay alive.
You can pick up Dwerve right now on PC, via Steam and the Humble Store for Gaming for £15.49 with a 15% discount via Steam. It’ll be coming to Nintendo Switch a little later.
