Spice Wars roadmap includes both co-op and PvP multiplayer

0

Exactly one month ago, Dune: Spice Wars dropped onto PC in its Early Access state, and the launch turned out rather well overall. Developer Shiro Games has brought up the positive feedback that the game received, and it made sure to thank them for it. Naturally, this feedback seems to have given the developers some extra motivation to pursue their roadmap for Dune: Spice Wars, which they revealed yesterday via Steam. This roadmap unveils some potentially exciting new features that will be added to Dune: Spice Wars within the coming months, including multiplayer functionality and a new faction.

Multiplayer will undoubtedly stick out as the most significant addition to many fans, and it will come as both a co-op feature and a free-for-all PvP mode that support up to four players each. The developers have labeled these multiplayer modes as their main priority, and they plan to release them sometime this summer.

That’s not all, of course

As for the rest of the roadmap, a brand new, yet unnamed, faction will come after the multiplayer, with the release window also slated for this summer. After that, the game will receive the “Air and Sand” update, which will implement “new units and tactical elements,” as well as the addition of councilors as controllable units. As of right now, the developers have not shown a release window for either of these two updates, so players will have to wait just a little more for that information.

These additions, particularly the multiplayer modes, will surely leave fans of Dune: Spice Wars eagerly awaiting more announcements and more concrete release dates. In the meantime, though, players can enjoy the first official update that dropped at the beginning of this week. Those who want to learn more can take a look at the patch notes on Steam.
