Before moving forward, it’s essential to note that you must have reached Survey Corps Rank 5 to be eligible for this request.
Here are the step by step instructions to complete The Seas Legend request and catch Manaphy:
- Accept The Sea Legend request by Professor Laventon.
Professor Laventon can be found at Galaxy Hall, and you can accept his request by approaching the bulletin board.

- Catch an Overqwil, Buizel, and Mantyke and put them in your party.
Evolve Qwilfish to Overqwil and find the rest of the Pokemon in the Hisui region. Once you have these three Pokemon, bring them to your party and choose any three for the rest of the slots.

- Go to the Cobalt Coastlands.
The next step is to visit Cobalt Coastlands and rest at the base camp until evening.

- Pass between the two spikes in the ocean.
These spikes can be found in the northeast of the base camp, and a cutscene will begin when you pass between them.

- Head to the Seaside Hollow.
After the cutscene, you’ll need to visit Seaside Hollow located on the north side of Veilstone Cape. A cave icon on the map denotes the Seaside Hollow; hence make sure to keep an eye on it as well.

- Catch Manaphy and report back to Professor Laventon to complete the request.
After reaching the location, you’ll encounter a short cutscene, unveiling that the mystery Pokemon is Manaphy. Finally, catch the Manaphy and speak with Professor Laventon at Galaxy Hall.

After walking through all the above-mentioned steps, The Sea Legend request will be marked as completed, and you’ll get three Comet Shards as a reward.
