Dragon’s Dogma Website Launches to Celebrate 10th Anniversary

A new website to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Dragon’s Dogma has been launched. Capcom shared to celebrate ten years of the first release which happened in 2012.

Game director Hideaki Istsuno shared on the website a message to thank the Arisen who have taken on the challenges of the game. The website also features the full Dragon’s Dogma history of the franchise, which includes the comic prologue that was released in April 2012 all the way to the Dragon’s Dogma Netflix original anime series that was released in 2020.

Dragon’s Dogma lets players team up with Pawns that fight alongside you…as well as die alongside you.

In case you missed it, Dragon’s Dogma is an RPG that has party-based combat and an open world to explore. The game comes with a ton of customisation when it comes to your own character, as well as options to customise Pawns. You can also recruit these AI companions online from other players. This unique feature lets players share the rewards of treasure, tips and strategy. Also, they delivered some pretty memeable one-liners such as teaching you that wolves hunt in packs and what’s weak to fire.

Strength in Numbers, Arisen

With the launch of the 10th-anniversary website, could there be something new on the horizon? The website teases that this month the game has turned ten years old. What could Capcom have planned for the Arisen? Will there be a remaster? A remake? Or even Dragon’s Dogma 2? So far the website doesn’t hint at whether there will be any announcements but past rumours of a possible sequel in the works have been around for some time.

While the franchise did get an MMO called Dragon Dogma Online, it only launched in Japan, with servers shutting down in 2019. Some thought maybe this could mean they would be working on a sequel, along with the news of the Netflix series in 2020. However, we’ll have to wait and see whether Capcom will ever decide to make a sequel to the classic open-world game.
